Village (Church) People

Family Promise Metrowest opened their doors to welcome their first guests in October,2008 with 21 member congregations:13 host and 8 support congregations. Today there are 49 congregations from 12 towns; 70 business and community partners; 3,000 volunteers, from faith houses, schools, colleges, civic organizations, businesses and the community at large.

Village Church has been there from the very beginning.

In 2013, Family Promise Metrowest began a Transitional Living Program to address the needs of families after they left shelter. They offer subsidies and case management for an additional 1-2 years to increase their long-term sustainability and success.

In 2015, they launched Steps to Success, a comprehensive employment initiative assisting families to reach their highest earning potential. Intensive case management is provided along with subsidies for education, training, day care and transportation, often barriers in pursuing career objectives.

The greatest hurdle to  families ready to move on is the lack of affordable housing. Family Promise is committed to increasing the stock of permanent, affordable housing for those they serve. Their first project, a two-family house owned by the Natick Affordable Housing Trust and designated for their families, will open this spring.

The newest collaboration is with City Mission to help families who face eviction. Local Initiative for Family Empowerment, L.I.F.E., provides financial support and case management to keep families in their homes,.

New Day Center, at 6 Mulligan Street, Natick. The new building will address the need for adequate space for  families and staff and for expanding  programming.

Please help us raise money to support all these important initiatives.
